CL605: Advanced Reaction Engineering Tutorial 3: 25 August 2003

1. A second order elementary reversible reaction of the form has forward rate constant values of 10.4 l/mol/s and 45.4 l/mol/s at and , respectively. The standard state enthalpy and entropy change for this reaction are given to be 8400 cal/mol and -2.31 cal/mol/K respectively. It can be supposed that these quantities are temperature-independent. Derive expressions for the forward and reverse rate constants as a function of temperature.
