Regression Analysis:In statistics, regression analysis is a statistical process for estimating the relationships among variables, the difference

between a sample result and an assumed population condition or between two or more samples. The variable being predicted is called dependent variable. The variable that form the basis of prediction are called independent variable. So we access the importance of the predictor in exerting impact on the dependent variable. Discriminant:Is a method of constructing linear combination of variables in such a way that this newly created function optimally discriminates among the groups. We can then assess how the group differ with respect to this new linear combination score and we can look at the relative weights assigned to each of the variables. Factor Analysis:Its a tool of interdependence analysis. All the variables have equal status and none is singled out for special treatment as dependent variables. Its mainly used for data reduction. It simplifies data analysis by taking advantage of the correlation among diff variables Cluster Analysis:It helps the market researcher identify natural groupings of the customer. Identify aggregates of consumers who behave similarly. Another application is test markets. Multidimensional scaling: Is a technique to measure and represent people perception about various objects. Perceptual maps. Conjoint analysis: Consumers preference for different combination of level of attributes can be measured using dummy variable.
