The spirit of Mumbai

A place, Where mysterious rule your mind, imaginations take their flight, terrors are in plenty and rains sometimes scanty, polluted yet stylish, poor but beautiful, the birthplace of bollywood, where a poor man from a village comes here to assmane apni kismat in this sapno ki nagri where we all sing bam bam bambai bambai humko jamgai........... From letters to e-mails, telephones to mobile phones, from Victoria terminus to CST , and now from Bombay to Mumbai.... I welcome all u readers to a tour of my nest MUMBAI, where we see, the high-raised apartments and slums, isolations in the crowded chawls ,the water wars , bhel-puri on the beach, Cricket Sachin Dhoni ,the ladies compartment of a local train, the cops , the monsoon floods , the ever cropping political parties, the cinema hall , the sea , the bomb blast, the corruption, but yet UNITED by one cause HUMANITY. Even if u are late for work, and run to catch the train ,to the packed compartment ,you find many hands reaching out to grab you on board. And at the time of contact we do not know, that the hand reaching you belongs to Hindu, Muslim or Christian. All they know is that you are trying to reach to the city of gold . This is Mumbai the city of dreams........ The city of dreams which never stops , but it did stop jab (26 July) chabees july ki vo Mumbai ki shaam, Barsa paani hi paani bus logo ke naam.......

The day 26th July, 2005 , which put a break to the city which is alien to the meaning of stop at all. Followed by the 26/11 terror attacks of 2008,the city which never sleeps got a nightmare. The palace of Mumbai The Taj , where guns and dead bodies witnessed Kasab-Raj. Behind the bollywood facade Mumbai projects to the world, it has huge problems in reality. Its more slum dog than millionaire, here its shootout at nariman point, blast in the city......but jane tu ya jane na marne se daar nahi lagta kasab ,apno ko khone se lagta hai. Mumbaikers very well know that zindagi na millegi dobara and so the next morning rush hour rolled around, vegetable vendors do a brisk trade. The citys ability to pick up itself and march right back to work in its own way, evidences the indomitable spirit of Mumbai. And so as always...... Ai Dil Hai Mushakil Jeena Yahaan Zara Hat Ke, Zara Bach Ke Ye Hai Bambai Meri Jaan.............
