Unit I Introduction to 8085 Microprocessor : General definitions of microcomputers, microprocessors, micro controllers, 8085 Architecture and its operation, Signal descriptions and pins of 8085 microprocessor, Register structure, ALU, Bus Organization, Timing and Control unit, Programming Model Unit II Instruction set of 8085 : Addressing modes, Data transfer operations, Arithmetic and Logic operations, Branching and Stack operations, Timing diagram Unit III Programing of 8085 and its interfacing with memory and I/O Devices : Counters and Time Delays, Stack and Subroutine, Code Conversion, Programming techniques, Memory mapped I/O, I/O mapped I/O, Memory interfacing Unit IV Interfacing with peripheral ICs and converters : IC 8255, Interfacing with LED and LCD, Interfacing with 7-segment Display, IC 8279, IC 8254, Interfacing with ADC, Interfacing with DAC Unit V Interrupts and microprocessor applications : 8085 vectored interrupts, Restart and software interrupts, IC 8259, Structure of Interrupts, Temperature Control, Traffic Light Control, Digital Clock, Stepper motor control Unit VI Introduction to 8086 Microprocessor : Signal descriptions and pins of 8086 microprocessor, Physical memory organization, BIU, EU, Internal organization of 8086 microprocessor Text Books: 1.
