Mrs. Clearys Science Fair Research Paper Updates for Academic Classes 1.

Students have been researching heat transfer to learn basic information about conduction, convection and radiation (Chapters 9 and 10 of their textbook). 2. They should have at least five document analyses three of them were done in class and a homework grade was earned for the work. 3. Students must select one of the three modes of heat transfer to conduct an investigation. Once a mode is selected, students should widen their research by learning how their selected topic (conduction, convection or radiation) affects the environment and living things. 4. Four basic experiments will be discussed in class at least one experiment for each mode of heat transfer. With this information students will decide on a question they want to investigate. They should enhanced or modify the basic experiments discussed in class to test their hypotheses. 5. Students are required to type the research paper and follow the guidelines stated on page 5 of their science fair workbook (the workbook is available at the school website www.lajh.info click on the Science Fair tab, click on Standard Science Fair Workbook). 5. Prior to conducting the experiment, students must get teachers approval by filling out and turning in page 4 and page 36 (County Approval Form) in their science fair workbooks.
