Pattern Reguirements:
4" wooden embroidery hoop Steam a Seam 5" square muslin backing fabri tac 11/2" x 2" Red Wool 5" square background fabric 6" piece of decorative ribbon red thread
Pattern Directions: :
On the paper side of steam a seam, draw 7 hearts. Iron to red wool. Cut each heart out (on the line, no seam allowance). Using a light source, center the background fabric and place each heart on the vine. Use the 4" ornament hoop~to hold your stitchery while completing Fuse one at a time until all 7 have been adhered in place. Transfer the rest of the design for stitching. Back with muslin square before stitching. the embroidery. Use red thread to baste red wool hearts into place.
Embroidery Directions:
Use green floss backstitch vine and satin stitch leaves. Dusty rose french knot buds on vine and satin stitch heart A, B &
c. Dark brown/gray
chain stitch the letter L and backstitch the rest of the lettering.
Finishing:
Remove any transfer lines. Press embroidery flat. Center the larger part of the hoop over design. Draw a circle using the outside edge of the hoop as your guide. Cut away access fabric on line drawn. Use some fabri tac glue, sparingly around outer edge of smaller part of hoop. Center the stitchery over small hoop and let the glue catch the edges. Place another dot of-glue at the top of stitcher (on the edge). Fold decorative ribbon in half and tack it in place at the top of the hoop. Slide large part of hoop over the top, making sure to tighten the screw and center it at the top. Trim away any extra ribbon or fabric. Use one
strand of red floss and stitch a running stitch Circle around entire design. The hoop will guide you with this.
