Positive Influences This homework assignment is to observe our homes and communities around us. The goal of this assignment is to understand how different cultures positively influence us every day. Please take the time with your child to find as many positive influences you can around your home and/or community. This research project is to get students interested in other cultures and to develop an appreciation for new cultures. They may research any culture of their choice, as long as it is not their own. Research may be done on the Internet, in the library, etc. Collages must be at least the size of an 8.5x11in sheet of paper, but they may be bigger as well. Students will also need to complete a reflection paragraph that talks about what they enjoyed learning about the culture and why. Following is a checklist of things you will need, things that need to be incorporated in their collage and in their paragraph.
