Tunnel Vision- The effect of unbelief and pride

When pride and unbelief narrow and blur our vision of what Jesus has done and will do for us. Our grasp of the gospel and our hearts condition is impaired Because of our poor vision, our understanding and appreciation of the gospel is limited. The benets of the gospel grow dim and distant.! eg. We see it for a moment then forget. ! eg. We se only a small aspect of the gospel! Our heart is the centre of our being. Our poor gospel vision makes it difcult to see our hearts attitude and direction. We fail to seek where we are prone to temptation and sin.! We are forever falling into temptation. We dont see the danger of sin in our lives. The Spirit gives us light, power and life. When we experience tunnel vision, in unbelief and pride we are less under His inuence and power. We see less of the life Christ intended for us. Without the Spirit we cannot see God or self clearly. We will struggle to change, grow,

20/20 Vision - Eyes open by the gospel

This can be understood as repentant faith. When we open our eyes and hearts in faith to what God has done, is doing, and will do. We accept that what God says about is is true, and reject incorrect views of ourselves. As we walk in faith and repentance we can see more of the riches of the gospel - Our new status and identity become clearer. As we grow in knowledge of the gospel and of Jesus, we grow in a true knowledge of ourselves. The gospel is like this diamond, we see a different face every time we look. As we grow looking at the fulness of the gospel, our own hearts become clear to us. We give glory to Christ for the grace in our lives and keep an open eye on sin, unbelief and pride. We have a desire to mortify (Kill) the sin in our lives by the grace of Jesus. ! The Spirit gives us light and power and life. He shows us every spiritual blessing and reveals to us our hearts condition. The spirit empowers us to live the Christian life. We have no power in and of ourselves to do so.
