LOGICAL To persuade readers that a states job training program has worked and should continue to be funded, the following data would be convincing: Success rate of program participants Compare to people who did not participate in the program. May use charts, graphs

EMOTIONAL Arouses the audiences emotionssympathy, patriotism, anger, pride based on values, beliefs and motives. Example A previously unemployed woman who found a job and succeeded in this job after participating in the training program. Her testimony would appeal to the audiences sympathy and belief that training is a key to success.

ETHICAL These appeals act on the audiences opinions and judgments about the person making the argument. Proves to the audience that you are knowledgeable . Appeals establish your credibility Values based appeal: cutting funding for job training could result in increased unemployment and increased unemployment may increase financial burdens on taxpayers.
