    The Honorable Richard Blumenthal 724 Hart Senate Office Building United States Senate Washington, DC 20510 Re: S. 1174 Dear Senator Blumenthal : We strongly agree with you that the selfless sacrifices of the 65th Infantry Regiment of the United States Army, our nations last segregated unit composed of Hispanic soldiers, should be honored, just as we have honored the great contributions of Tuskegee Airmen and the Navajo Code Talkers. AARP supports your legislation to mint a single gold medal of appropriate design in honor of the 65th Infantry Regiment Borinqueneers. Their courage and contributions in defense of our country and way of life, all while suffering humiliating discrimination and prejudice, should not go unrecognized any longer.
