Precedent - AutoCAD
Assignment 3 will have you researching, analyzing, and re-drafting a small document set of a historically significant architectural work by: Mies Van Der Rohe, Charles and Ray Eames, and Pierre Koenig. Instructors will assign each student with the project they will work with.
Assigned: Thursday, Feb 13th Checkpoint: Monday, Feb 17th

Selected Buildings:
1. Barcelona Pavilion -Ludwig Mies van der Rohe 1929 2. Eames House -Charles and Ray Eames 1949 3. Farnsworth House -Ludwig Mies van der Rohe 1950 4. Case Study House #22/ Stahl House -Pierre Koenig 1959

Procedure:
You will be examining, measuring and drafting a selection of architectural building plans, sections, and elevations throughout this assignment. 1. Explore and research your selected building. Using the library and web locate and collect a set of photographs that will help you understand these buildings plans, sections and elevations. A thorough knowledge of the building will help in producing drawings that are accurate and insightful. 2. Print the provided plans, and using a scale dimension all elements in the plan. 3. In AutoCAD, begin to transfer your plan measurements. Be sure to set up layers in order to separate the various plan elements of the project.
