2014 MODERN SNARE DRUM COMPETITION

! The competition will take place in Atlanta, Georgia at the Woodruff Arts Center May 17 18, 2014. The competition is open to anyone ages 25 years old and under and will be divided into two Divisions: Division I (ages 25 years old and under) and Division II (ages 18 years old and under) A set list of repertoire will be required for each round. The competition jury will include the following members: Tom Sherwood, director (Principal Percussion, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra) Alan Abel (Associate Principal Percussion, Philadelphia Orchestra, retired) John Parks (Associate Professor of Percussion, Florida State University) Joseph Pereira (Principal Timpani, LA Philharmonic, USC Thorton School of Music) Charles Settle (Percussion, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra) ! ! There will be a $70 (non-refundable) application fee. Application deadline is April 25, 2014. Space is limited. Candidates will be responsible for their own travel and housing expenses. Information will be provided for nearby hotels offering Atlanta Symphony Orchestra discount rates.

Second Place:

Third Place:

Division II (ages 18 years old and under) First Place:

$500 cash prize P-Bag Orchestral Mallet Bag Selection of Freer Percussion and Zildjian products

Second Place:

Third Place:
$200 cash prize Selection of Freer Percussion and Zildjian products
