Read through client charts or background to prepare to deliver services Consult with persons involved (teachers, parents, outside agencies)

Use empathy and other interpersonal skills. Show students that I am concerned and listening as they seek help 3V & B (visual, vocal, verbal tracking, body language)

Develop a mutually agreed-on focus of work As an intern, we discuss plans every morning for the day, knowing that they may alter at any given time

Collect, organize, and interpret client data. Completing documentation, gathering background/pertinent information

Assess client strengths and limitations. Student who wants to drop out, let them know they have made it 12 years, so close to finishing

Develop mutually agreed-on intervention goals and objectives Assist in goal setting and apply appropriate intervention strategies
