Week 4 Progress Report 2/17: Meeting started at 3:00 p.m., Douglass Hall. Everyone was in attendance.

Jessica was able to get us a meeting with the Sociology librarian. We had the meeting on that following Friday. We followed up on the emails sent to the Pride Center and Multicultural Center. We worked more on our annotated bibliography, literature analysis, and talked about upcoming deadlines and meetings that we should schedule. We wanted to interview the elderly to see their views on gender roles to see if the age gap difference made a change as to the views that certain people have on equality. We wanted to see if we could find any off campus resources. One that was mentioned was the Womens Museum here in Downtown Sacramento. Another that was talked about was My Sisters House and the volunteer service we could do. Lastly we ended our meeting by talking about the expectations that arise from men and women dealing with relationships. Meeting ended at 3:50 p.m., Douglass Hall. 2/19: Meeting began at 3:00 p.m., Douglass Hall. Everyone was in attendance. This meeting was mostly focused on collaborating our resources to continue our work on our annotated bibliography. We also asked Paolo Soriano if he could take pictures of us for our website. We plan to upload our photo gallery onto the website soon. We also talked about some events going around on campus that dealt with our contemporary issue. We werent sure who could really make it however. Meeting ended at 3:50 p.m., Douglass Hall. At around 7 p.m. Christine and Cheyenne went to Uncomfortable Conversations: American Pop Culture: The Gender Gap. It was hosted by the multicultural sorority, Zeta Sigma Chi. The event was a conversational forum about how body image portrayed in stereotypes by the media affects collegiate students from both the male and female perspective. 2/21: Meeting began at 2:30 p.m., Campus Library. Sam was the only one not in attendance due to a family emergency. We had our meeting with the Sociology librarian, Mr. Amata. He taught us how to look up sources and which websites to gather information on. Mr. Amata also told us that we would not find very much on the male perspective of gender equality since most of the debate is about womens equality. He suggested that we look into books and literature rather than journals for our research. After much debate, we decided to not look into seeing any more research librarians and go straight to talking with the department heads on Womens Studies, Child Development, and Asian American Studies. Meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m., Campus Library.
