Junior Kindergarten News

Beginning on Monday March 3, JK children will play outside before school begins in the morning. When the bell rings at 8:40 we will line up along the gate and enter the school with the older students. Please bring your child to school between 8:20 and 8:40. On the Monday, March 3rd I will be on yard duty supervising the students to ensure that it is a smooth transition. Our JK class is learning to be independent in many different ways. We have started a zipper club, which is helping the students to learn to try something on their own before asking an adult to help them with it. Please say goodbye to your child outside of the classroom when you are dropping your child off. It is very important for your child to complete morning classroom routines independently. It has been an amazing journey watching as each childs confidence has continued to develop in this area. For our school auction in April, JK/SK will be creating a coffee themed basket to raffle. Please send in items for our basket or send a donation to go towards it. If you have a basket that we can put all our goodies in, please contact me. LCES will be raising money for the student service project, The Water Challenge, by only drinking water for the week, and donating any money that you would normally spend on other beverages. Watch for more information on this fundraiser. Please note that rest blankets will go home with students on March 6 for washing. Please remember to return them Monday, March 17, after the March break. A JK/SK field trip to a local grocery store is being planned for Monday, March 31. Watch for more information later this month. We would welcome the assistance of a few parents to help us.

Have a great month and a blessed March Break! Mrs. Graham
