"This is a digitizer issue, you must buy a new one."

This could possibly be the case if after following this guide it still does not work, but for now, I am going to say, follow the steps on this guide before buying a new digitizer.

Diagnosis #3:
Quote:

"neither digitizers register touch." Users #3:

"This is a flex cable problem, replace the flex cables."

This may be very much true, unless you have previously messed with the flash/software or non-carefully reinstalling the old digitizer, the old digitizer should be able to register touch.

[Solutions]
Diagnosis #1 & #2
[Requirements]
Quote:

* Sony Ericsson Xperia Flasher -by Bin4ry and Androxyde *Google it or go into the development section. * Official Android Firmware v2.3.2 *or lowest your phone can go. Click here! Forum made by Captain67 * USB Andriod drivers Installed for Xperia Play. *Located in "drivers" folder in the Flash-tool's directory. * Xperia Play to have enabled USB debugging for use of Flash-tools. *may not be needed for this guide.

[Instructions]
Quote:

1.) After succesfully installing the digitizer, turn on the phone and allow it reach the main screen. 2.) With the phone powered on, Plug your phone via USB to your computer. *install android drivers if you have not done so already. 3.) Download the lowest firmware suitable for your Xperia. *link is above in requirements 4.) Unzip the firmware you should get and "*.FTF" file, drag this file into the "firmware" folder in the flash-tool's directory. 5.) Open the flash-tool program. 6.) With the flash-tool program opened, click on the thunderbolt icon and select "flash-mode". 7.) Using the firmware you have downloaded from the link above, proceed to flash the firmware on the phone by clicking "ok". * Wipe Data and other options are optional, and it does no difference but to possibly clear space. 8.) Once you have successfully flashed, you should see that the touch screen actually works. * Yes you can upgrade to the custom kernels and firmwares as the original firmwares re-codes the digitizer to work on your phone.

Diagnosis #3
Uh, you may have to replace the flex cables for the slider or you may have not properly inserted the touch screen cable correctly to the digitizer.

I saved waiting a week and money. The digitizers needs to be reisntalled, thats it. only way to do it is by orignial stock firmwares, then you can re-upgrade to custom. How did you re-crack the screen? Did you throw away the digitizer from repair universe? If not, then you can use that still by following the guide.

This is my problem: Some time ago I bought a Xperia Play on second-hand web from a guy on my city. In time, the phone got wet by rain, and digitizer started to go sometimes crazy, specially texting. I could survive with it. After 2 months, the Ribbon Flex crashed, it showed screen completely screwed up, like in TV, you know, that problem that happen to everyone after sometime . So I changed it. The point its, when i changed it, my old Digitizer stopped working. So I buyed a new one, which of course, I dont know why doesnt work too (this replacement comes from a trusted dealer from my uncle electronics shop, so for the moment, I dont think the new digitizer itself its the problem). So, for the moment, I see you suggest the problem comes from software, and not hardware. Heres what im suffering: I dont have the Bootloader unlock. I only have Unroot and im not able to unlock the BL unless I pay to those guys who are able to do that unofficialy. What the hell Im supossed to do man? Im starting to go panic. Please, I need your help if its posible. Thank you at least for reading this.
