Lesson Plan in Science V

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, Students must be able to: Determine the conditions of the environment before, during and after a tropical cyclone. Draw an environment before, during and after a tropical cyclone.

II. Subject Matter: Topic: Conditions in the Environment Before, During and After a Tropical Cyclone References: Exploring and Protecting our World 5, p. 285 Materials: cartolina, manila paper, marker, board and chalk, pictures III. Procedure: A. Review Review the students by asking the following questions: 1. What are the types of a tropical cyclone? 2. In order for a typhoon to be intensified, what conditions should be maintained?

B. Motivation Now, were moving to the next topic. There are already weather forecasts before typhoon Yolanda came to our country. What did you observed before typhoon Yolanda came? When typhoon Yolanda reached our place, what have you observed? What have you experienced? A day after, the typhoon already passed through the Philippine area of Responsibility, what have you observed? C. Presentation Conditions in the environment change before, during and after a tropical cyclone. Present a picture of a place before a typhoon came. Before a tropical cyclone develops, tall clouds are observed in the sky. The air is dry and cold, and its relative humidity is high. The sky is clear. Present a picture of a place during a typhoon. During a tropical cyclone, there are heavy rains and strong winds. The sky is cloudy. Present a picture of a place after a typhoon. After a tropical cyclone, the sky becomes clear and the sun is visible. There may be rains but not as much as during the typhoon. Low lying areas are flooded.

D. Application Draw in a 1 whole sheet of paper a place before, during and after a cyclone.

E. Generalization Generalize the whole topic by asking the students the following questions. 1. What is the condition in the environment before a typhoon? 2. What is the condition in the environment during a typhoon? 3. What is the condition in the environment after a typhoon?

IV. Evaluation Answer the following in a sheet of paper Describe the following in a paragraph form: 1. condition in the environment before a typhoon. 2. condition in the environment during a typhoon. 3. condition in the environment after a typhoon.

V. Agreement Share your Sendong experience. What have you experienced or observed before, during and after the typhoon. Write in a sheet of paper.
