What

Lesson How

Why
Theories of Teaching and Learning: Knowledge is constructedwhat I teach my students need to build off what they currently know and support what they will need to learn in the future (Gardner) Classrooms are responsive Talk moves will be used to engage students and generate higher level of thinking (Chapin) I used to think I myself had a fixed mindset so to move away from that towards a growth mind set, and believing that students have these positive growing mindsets as well (Gardner)

Teaching Methods: Interviews of students cultures and ethnicities will be conducted by following a handout Writing prompts to discuss fairy tale elements, cultural background, etc. Read alouds Art activity of making a mobile of fairy tale elements Art activity for Social Studies to be made after interviewing and getting know the differences between one student and another Each student writes their own fairy tales using 2-3 elements Whole class participation in fairy tale play

Educational Philosophy and Beliefs A safe learning environment must be established where we listen to one another and take turns speaking Each student is an individual, part of a bigger community. It is important to address and value each students opinions and values. Students are interested in learning about the world around them and want to learn. Knowledge is constructed- everything and anything we learn builds off one another
