Resources for the Studio Visual Art piece submission (by Semester)
Course Description:
This course is designed for students who are interested in the techniques of crafting and illustrating using multiple art mediums. Students will learn the techniques to craft original pieces from clay, glass, paper mache`, stone, and wire, as well as to create artworks from canvas using water color, oil, acrylic, graphite, charcoal, ink, and colored pencil. This course will compliment and comply with the University of Studio Visual Arts standards for production of studio quality art pieces. Learning experiences will also focus on the art and history of sculpting and illustrating. Technique and creativity plays a major role in this course. While I will assist you, it is YOUR responsibility to familiarize yourself with the tools and medium used. Moreover, while some class time will be allotted for studio work, most of the artwork and creations will be completed outside of the classroom. Please schedule to stay after class if needing verbal assistance on a project. All University course policies, including grading policy, will be followed.
The end of course Portfolio and (2) Final Pieces completed by due date and time will align with the following USVA Standards:

Development: The student understands how to use the techniques and tools regarding the medium used and support their artwork intellectually with personal reflection Diversity: The student understands the differences between mediums and uses creative approaches and opportunities in their artwork Motivation/Behavior: The student preforms adequately and fluently throughout studio time and progresses outside of the classroom to meet individual due times. Meaning: The student creates original art forms that interpret in-depth personal, societal, historical, racial, influential, symbolic, etc meaning that is supported in their reflection. Communication: The student adapts and responds correctly to peer and public criticism from individual artworks submitted. Growth: The students performance and abilities progress during the course and gain content knowledge from the lessons and studio work. Reflection: The individual artworks express a personal refection of the artist that undergoes critical thought and perception.
