Basic Instructions for Precision Plasma LLC Carriage Kit

Carriage weldments 1. Drill all small holes to (holes for the weld nuts do not apply) 2. Choose the worst side of all laser cut plates with weld nut pilot holes and weld on weld nuts. (orientation does not matter) 3. Choose the best sides of the laser cut plates and have them facing out to assemble the carriage assemblies. (the z axis carriage will have 4 holes on the carriage plate and no holes on the motor plate. The 2 gantry carriage assemblies has no holes on the carriage plate and 2 holes on the motor plates) 4. Assemble and weld the carriage assemblies together. Be sure to keep plates square.

Assembling the carriages 1. Place concentric bushings on the 2 wheel side and the eccentric bushing (hex) on the 1 wheel side. 2. Install each wheel as follows. 3. Bolt through hole, bushing, 3/8 washer, bearing, serrated nut. 4. Adjust the eccentric bushing to apply pressure to the side of a 2x2x16ga tube. 5. Slide the assembly back and forth while adjusting the eccentrics to remove all play. 6. If the eccentrics are too tight, the carriage will be difficult to move, if too loose, there will be play. The tubing will spring a bit at the correct adjustment. You will be able to feel this when you slide the carriage off the end of the tube and back on. This tension is required.
