Just 10 Minutes

Three Stone Ring

1. Start by creating a 3-axis shank work area in the correct size. This will lock in the appropriate ring size for the settings. Once the model is open, immediately close it.

2. Create a two carat round setting. Change the stone depth to 5mm. The top allowance should be .05, the bottom allowance 2mm, wall thickness .8mm and the wall angle 76 degrees. Create the bezel. To get to the editing screen.

3. Create an ellipse as shown.

4. Node edit into a pear shape.

5. Paste five along the center line.

6. Offset the pear shapes by 1mm. If the pear shapes arent properly adjusted, they may need to be scaled.

6. Draw a long rectangle at the bottom of the pear shapes and flood fill the rectangle and the space between the pear shapes.

7. Apply the shape editor zero rest to the color. Rebuild your model.

8. Add to the project by selecting the final check mark.

9. Copy your setting and rotate it 45 degrees around the Z axis.

10. Copy the head and scale to 80%. Rotate the copy around the Y axis until it is
side by side with the center stone. Embed the setting in the center mounting for a shared prong.

11. Use the assembly mirror tool to create the final setting.

12. Reopen the ring shank. Add the assembly silhouette. Create a shank vector by copying the thickness circle and node editing it. To save time, just do the left side. We will mirror it later.

13. Use the Angled Plane Tool. Select use curser to select points options and set points at the top and bottom of your piece. Make the top point .5mm and the bottom point 1mm.

14. Offset the ring vector inwards .5mm. Offset the ring size circle outward .5mm. Apply the Fade relief tool to the outer vectors with a strength of 66%. Use the 3D-blend tool and the inside of the ring to provide a comfort fit. Select concave and subtract. The result will be a convex edge for the comfort fit.

15. Draw a vector to remove excess material from the shank.

16. Mirror the relief from left to right.

17. Create a mesh using an inverted front to complete the shank. Nudge the heads downward to match the shank if needed.
