iPad App Training Agenda Edmodo, ClassDojo, & Remind101 on the iPad

Colquitt County School System Central Office Tuesday, February 11, 2014 3:30-5:30 Overview: Students will download, enroll, and learn how to implement three different apps on the iPad. Participants: 17 Colquitt County School System Teachers and other personnel Standards: Standards for Professional Learning:
Leadership: Professional learning that increases educator effectiveness and results for all students requires skillful leaders who develop capacity, advocate, and create support systems for professional learning. Resources: Professional learning that increases educator effectiveness and results for all students requires prioritizing, monitoring, and coordinating resources for educator learning. Implementation: Professional learning that increases educator effectiveness and results for all students applies research on change and sustains support for implementation of professional learning for long-term change. Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-toface and virtual environments. d. Model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments.

3. Model digital age work and learning Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. a. Demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations. b. Engage in professional growth and leadership Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. b. Exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others. Objectives: The learner will be able to join the iPad app training group using the Edmodo app. The learner will be able to create a sample class and assign behaviors using the ClassDojo app. The learner will be able to download and navigate the Remind101 app, join the iPad app training class via a specific code, and receive a text from the training class instructor. ClassDojo (4:15-4:45) Download app and create an account Class Demonstration Reports 3. Remind101 (4:45-5:00) Download the app and create an account Demonstration 4. Question and Answer Session (5:00-5:15) 5. Survey (5:15-5:30)

Assessment: Instructor will check to make sure class attendees have joined Edmodo and Remind101 via class lists on the instructors end. Instructor will also observe whether learners have created ClassDojo class and can navigate Remind101 and whether surveys accessed through the webpage via Edmodo are completed by each attendee.
