Cooperating with Members of the Teaching Team:

Together, We Are Better

Two heads is always better than one. This holds especially true when it comes to education and planning for success of all students. I believe that it is vital to work with members of the teaching team, especially if one has a teaching partner. It is also important to work with the teachers from all different subject areas of your students, such as the art teacher, music teacher, French teacher, etc. By working together with the teachers in ones cycle, teachers can also share ideas and assure that they are on the right track and that they are doing what is best for students. The same goes for all other teachers in a school, as well as parents, and students, who help keep the school running, and who are very much a part of the teaching team. Through working with members of ones teaching team, teachers can inform planning and instruction and work for the common good of all students. My cooperating teacher for my third field experience works very closely with her teaching team. She often plans lessons with the art teacher that tie into math or English. She also consistently speaks with the teachers from the same cycle about lessons, evaluation, progress, etc. By working with the members of ones teaching team, success for students becomes more attainable.

Cooperating with ones teaching team is much like using building blocks. The teams ultimate goal is to work together to better the school and outcome for all students. By working together, the teaching team has built the school up to be what it is, an environment of cooperation, professionalism, and wanting whats best for students.
