Environmental Threats in my home Biome in Choluteca, Honduras

Name: Ariel Rodriguez My home biome is surrounded mostly of farm lands, many people burn the mountains around for growing corn and beans, and this is an issue which is depleting trees which also contribute to the scarcity of water and the extinction of animals as garrobos and iguanas. This is very hard because everyone needs a job or something where to live from, and farming is the only thing our fathers and family can do. What happen when we do not have trees temperatures rises because we dont have shade to keep a cool environment through the releasing of water from the trees when they are making photosynthesis. Last year we were and are felling environment temperatures around 37C the rainy season is short and now is even hard to grow crops. Another issue is the depletion of the mangrove forest. According with the World Bank and the UN the economy of the town is increasing by the farming of shrimp, and what is this people worry about just money. People day after day is cutting down different species of mangroves leaving thousands of birds, fish, crabs, lobsters, shrimp, iguanas without habitat without food, the animals dont have any place where to go they cannot make it, because the water where mangroves are is a very special combination of salty and fresh water. Many people business man specially have not realize the damage they are making building big lagoons for shrimp farming, even all the communities can be damaged by this problems since them are located close to the pacific ocean and they

will not have the mangroves as protection when hurricanes and tropical storms come to our towns.
