Students will be split up into two groups One group will be in the multi-purpose room following along with the rest of this lesson plan (7) and one group will be in the multi-purpose room following lesson plan 6. List any other special features of your school or classroom that will affect the teaching of this lesson.
Students will be using pedometers for tracking purposes throughout this lesson.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE LESSON Content Strand: PK-12 Standard 2: Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities PK-12 Standard 3: Participates regularly in physical activity PK-12 Standard 5: Exhibits responsible personal social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings Enduring Understanding and/or Essential Question Students will be creating a two-day workout plan, beginning last class period (lesson 6) and continuing this class period (lesson 7). Students will create one day with weighted exercises and activities that are done in the weight room and one day with non-weighted exercises that could potentially be done anywhere. The overall goal of the two-day workout plan is to get the same results from both days. Students will be incorporating exercises that target a variety of different muscles in the body. They will then be able to perform their own workout plans in order to reach their own individual fitness goals. Content Specific Terms: Process Terms: Spotter, feet placement, bend at the knees, knees in line with Abdominal muscles, triceps, gluteus maximus, quadriceps, biceps, hamstring, toes, tight core pectoralis major, calf muscle, arm-leg extension, plank, bench dips, bridge, crunchies, chin-ups, cross-over crunch, calf raises, towel flys, push-ups, step-ups, hanging leg raise, lateral lunges, wall sit, abdominal v-ups, superman exercise, lunges, bicycle exercise, body weight squats Prior Learning/Prior Thinking Prior to this lesson, students have learned about a variety of activities that can be done with out exercise equipment. Students have been able to attempt all exercises and have been taught proper form, technique and safety concerns associated with the various exercises.

ASSESSMENT BEFORE THE LESSON Pre-assessment Pre-assessment took place in the previous two lesson plans. Do the students understand how to perform the exercises correctly? Do the students know what exercises target what muscles throughout the body? Are the students following all safety precautions? Once this has been seen through the students, this lesson plan can take place. LESSON PLAN OBJECTIVES AND LIFE SKILLS

Students will apply previous learned knowledge regarding different exercises that can be done with no weights when creating their workout plan. Students will incorporate a variety of exercises that target different muscles in their body. Introduction Total time: 5 Minutes Upon entering the gym, students will get a pedometer and get into their squad lines Lesson Objective(s): Handout workout plan rubric and template Discuss purpose of assignment and how it will be done (create one day today/one day next class period) Discuss what is expected of them Planned Transitions: Split class into two groups One group will continue to perform this lesson plan (7), and the other half will perform lesson plan 6.

Students will create a workout plan for one day that does not involve in weights. This workout plan will be used by themselves to help reach their own individual fitness goals. Formations / Cues

Students will set goals regarding how many reps/sets they can perform of a given exercise.
7. Communication

Students will communicate with their peers if they have questions about how an exercise is performed. Assessment

Cover requirements on rubric make sure students know what is expected of them 2 days to complete entire workout Students will be assessed on the creation of their plan workout plan by using the workout plan rubric. Split into two groups by using their squad lines

Students will be assessed through their pedometer throughout the entire lesson on their activity level.

Assessment Students will be assessed by observations Are they staying on task the entire time? They will also be assessed on the creation of their workout plan by using the workout plan rubric.

Formations / Assessment Strategy

Students will complete the muscle diagram exit ticket. Students will right their pedometer number at the top of their exit ticket before handing it in. Students are being assessed on their previously learned knowledge of where muscles are located on the body. This is necessary because when creating the workout plan, students must list what muscle is being worked for each exercise.

Students will also hand in their workout plan. Assessments: Throughout this lesson, students will be assessed throughout a variety of ways. Students will be assessed through observation on engagement, activity level, safety procedures and form and technique. Students will be assessed on their creation of their workout plan by using the rubric provided Students will be assessed on their exit ticket have they learned what I intended them to learn throughout the previous class periods, and are they using that learned knowledge to help them create a great workout plan? Equipment needs Writing utensil, work out plan rubric, workout plan template, muscle exit ticket, non-weight exercise task cards, towel, chairs, ledges (bleachers pulled out would work), ab mats, stop watch for plank station Safety Considerations Make sure students are performing exercises with proper form and technique All safety procedures regarding each exercise, as well as general safety procedures for the facility should be followed.

Differentiated Instruction The exercise task cards will be put in place throughout the multi-purpose room. These will be used by students to guide them throughout all exercises and help remind them of proper form, technique and safety concerns. Classroom Management/Democratic Practices Students will be split into two groups One group will be performing this lesson plan (day 7), while the other group will be performing lesson plan 6 in the fitness room. Students will switch the following class period.
