Philosophy
As an educator, I strive to help my students realize that as long as they believe in themselves, they can do anything they put their minds to. I empower each child to have the selfconfidence to become more independent and to believe in their abilities. Family is very important to me. I welcome family involvement in the classroom and outside the classroom. Family involvement is critical to a childs positive school experience. Families and teachers must collaborate to help build a childs confidence in themselves so that they do not feel defeated when doing school work. This begins by helping the child at home and providing a positive experience for them in school. Children should feel like they are capable of success. This can be done with support from school and home. I establish a safe and secure classroom environment for my students. I do this by helping children be themselves and by ensuring that school is a safe place. Making a child feel important is a good way to help them feel safe. By making the environment fun and inviting the children feel like they can be safe and sound while at school. I see my role as both a teacher and a friend. I am dedicated to my profession and feel it is my responsibility to get to know each individual child. Every child deserves to feel important. No child should ever feel less of a human just because of their differences. Children are young, innocent, and full of wonder, curiosity, and excitement. They are eager to learn and discover. It is an honor to be part of this educational experience with each child. -Miss Elizabeth Davis
