Homework: Expect an assignment almost every day. What is not completed in class is homework. Assignments will be checked and discussed the next day. All problems must be attempted in order to receive full credit. Homework will be checked every day, either for credit or for correctness. If an assignment is not complete when it is due, you may turn it in for partial credit. Homework for a chapter will not be accepted once the chapter test has been given. Homework that is checked for completeness will be recorded on a weekly or bi-weekly stamp sheet.

Quizzes/Test: You will have a test or quiz every week throughout the trimester. You may also have pop quizzes/clicker quizzes, so it is important to keep up with the material. If you are absent before a test, you are still required to take the test on the assigned day. If you miss a test or quiz, you are responsible for making it up during one of the next two, scheduled x-block periods, or during testingcenter hours.

Make-up Policy: It is the responsibility of the student to find out what was missed, make it up outside of regular class time, and hand it in. In most cases, late work will be accepted but once the chapter test has passed it will not be accepted. When a student is absent he/she should check the following: 1. The side white board daily assignments will be written on the side board behind my computer, copies of the work and/or assignments will be located in the bin, and a copy of the updated stamp sheet will be posted. 2. My website - the calendar is updated daily with class notes and assignments. If you know you are going to be absent it is a good idea to check the website and make up any work you missed before you even get back to school. 3. Talk to me if you have checked the sideboard and my website, and still cannot figure out what you missed, then it is appropriate to talk to me about it.

Grading Policy: Grades will be computed on a weighted point system. Points are earned in the following categories, with the percentage given for each: Homework: 15% Quizzes: 25% Quizzes - #tbt: 10% Tests: 50% The final exam with account for 20% of the final trimester grade.

PARENT SIGNATURE PAGE Remind 101 Remind 101 is a text messaging service that allows me, the teacher, to text both parents and students about important happenings in our class. These mostly include quiz/test dates, and my availability for tutoring, whether its x-block or before and after school. When signing up, your cell phone number remains anonymous. Its a one-way service I can text you, but you cant text me back. Also, your number is kept hidden from me. If you would like to receive text messages from me follow the instructions below: Compose a new text message. To: (407) 329 4320. Message: @spencgeo

You will receive a message that asks for your name. Once you respond, you are all set! The main reason I use Remind 101 is to keep students and parents in the loop. I want to keep an open line of communication so that I can do my best to keep parents updated and students on track so that they can be successful in my class. Please feel free to email or call if you ever have any concerns.

Extra Help and Communication Students who need extra help with class work or wish to make up a quiz or test can find me in room B-27 during X-block on Thursdays or after school most days. A math help lab is available during both lunches every day in B-33. Also, there are a lot of good resources and plenty of information on my website to keep you in the loop: www.mrspenc.weebly.com

I have read and understood the grading system, class guidelines, course construction and other course information on the four sheets in this packet. Students printed name: Students signature:
