Procedure
CWSDS shall ensure they are in compliance with the Ontario Fire Code. CWSDS shall ensure that staff both know and understand fire safety measures and procedures. Fire safety and evacuation instruction will be provided to residents. Fire Drills will be conducted regularly and monthly for both staff and residents in all residences and program areas. A record shall be kept of the results of each drill. . ". +. (. !anagers shall ensure that monthly fire drills for both staff and residents shall occur and be documented. #he Shift !anager or appropriate !anager will notify the Switchboard Operator of the fire drill $during the hours of %&'' A.!. and (&'' ).!. on weekdays*. #he Switchboard Operator or the Shift !anager will notify Chubb Security Systems and the Oakville Fire Department of the fire drill ,ust prior to the practice. #he Switchboard Operator $or -ouse . staff in the absence of the Switchboard Operator* will announce twice over the )A System /Assistance is 0e1uired in $specified location*2. #he Shift !anager will proceed to the location of the fire drill practice4 to observe4 monitor and evaluate the fire evacuation procedure. After the fire evacuation procedure is carried out by the staff on duty4 Switchboard4 or the Shift !anager4 will inform Chubb Security and the Oakville Fire Department that the fire drill practice is complete and all is clear. #he Shift !anager will reset the main panel located in the electrical room at the back of the gym and the fire alarm panel in the area where the fire drill was completed. -ouse7area where the fire drill has been practiced will complete the Fire Drill )ractice 0eport. #he Shift !anager will sign off the Fire Drill )ractice 0eport and forward to the Director of )rograms4 Director of Finance and 89ecutive Director for any necessary follow:up action and be retained by the 89ecutive Director;s office.
