Course Description: The focus of this half-year class is to develop an understanding of Utahs past and how it affects us today. Students will develop an appreciation and understanding of Utahs institutions, geography, prehistory, prehistoric and historic peoples, customs, and traditions. nstructional !"#ectives: $. Develop and refine reading s%ills, learn to predict, survey, and comprehend reading material. &. 'ead and interpret charts glossaries, graphs, ( maps. ). Understand the "asic rights and freedoms as Utah citi*ens and to recogni*e and respect cultural diversity. +ormat and ,rocedures: $. 'eading ( written assignments. &. -roup discussions. ).
