Planned, taught, and reflected on lessons aligned with Common Core standards. Assessed student learning using a variety of tools (e.g checklists, rubrics, observation). Created lessons integrated across curriculum. Implemented management plan in student teaching placement that let students correct their behavior while allowing them to reflect on their choices. Differentiated lessons for diverse learners in the classroom. Participated in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. Collaborated with other educators at a workshop presented by Nancy Skerrit to learn how to support writers in the Common Core Standards. Completed teaching observation cycle with supervisors including preconference, observation, debrief, and reflection. Used reflection and ideas from cohort coordinator and mentor teacher to better (improve) teaching and instructional practices. Attended professional development seminars through the College of Education including technology in the classroom, ethical issues in teaching, professionalism, and the Educator Effectiveness System (EES). Hosted student teachers from Bukkyo University in Japan to observe and reflect on teaching. Bridged communication between school and home by communicating with families in a variety of ways (letters, communication logs, etc). Participated in data team meetings to compare student achievement and determine best plan of action for improvement. Planned and implemented a behavior intervention project with a military family using resources from Operation Military Kids.

Intermediate Cheerleading Head Coach-Iolani Schools, March 2013-Present
Advised and coached the intermediate cheerleading team at Iolani Schools. Attended and supervised all practices, basketball and football games for all cheerleaders. Choreographed and implemented competition routine. Interacted and communicated with parents, other coaches, as well as other school professionals.
Elementary Cheer/Gymnastics Coach- Gym East (Seattle, WA), May 2009- Aug 2010
Supervised and instructed groups of ten to twenty children in competitive and recreational cheerleading and gymnastics.
