NASA Digital Learning Network Reflection I enjoyed the opportunity to interfacing with Dr. David Alexander. The opportunity was both interesting and beneficial. Even though Dr. David Alexander was used to interfacing with younger students he provided good information on how this network could be used in a classroom setting. He also gave good advice about college in general. It was very interesting to see how the conferencing device worked and it was interesting to see that it worked so well over such a long distance. It was also interesting to see that while using the DLN the NASA instructor could put up slides and videos so that he could elaborate on points and show these slides to the students he was teaching. Using a digital learning network in a classroom opens many opportunities for students and teachers. A digital learning network can connect classrooms across the country and around the world. This could be used for anything from science classes using the NASA digital learning network to language classes connecting countries so that students could practice with native speakers. Teachers can cooperate and share lessons more easily. Teachers can have guests talk to their class without having the speaker in the room.
