Al Ain Center for Care & Rehabilitation

I arrived there 8:00 o' clock early morning I saw some families bringing their children and they send them to the class and leave them till the end of the classes. In this center there are sections for the students depends on their situations, I started first to go to the very hard situations class and I couldnt hold out myself and I started to cry but not in front of them, I thanked god that I am normal person. I also saw three brothers the elder, the middle and the youngest one all of them are not normal but I dont know what is their illness problem exactly, the only thing I know that their mom all her daughters are normal but the boys usually when she give birth if it was boy is not normal.

Then I started visiting some classes in each class I stay 30 minutes and going to the other class with different problems. One of the classes were students with autism the teacher asked the students to match some numbers with the pictures which were written on the board and I was encouraging them, one of the students he was matching the numbers but he forget the number four every time and I was reminding him asking him to count again and to repeat again, he told me that I am confusing him so I have to keep quiet, me and his teacher we just laugh out loudly because his teacher told me that he usually forget the number four.

Then I moved to another class and this class was more interested actually so I spend the whole time with them. I met Saeed from KSA, Mohamed from Jordan, Mohamed from UAE and Zaki from Palestine all of them has mental problems but I couldnt get their full history because their teacher was very busy with them so I couldnt ask her everything about them.

First I will start talking about Zaki my favorite student he is the most clever student at the whole center, when he talked to anyone he is not looking at the person that he is talking with him at all he just look at the floor or at anything else he is ignoring but he understand everythin g, when he saw me holding my ipad he came to me but he didnt tell me that he want the ipad so I was scared I dont know what he want, I asked his teacher what's wrong with him then she told me that he loves the ipad so much then I asked him do u want it? But he didnt reply as usual he doesnt talk even if he want something, I gave him the ipad and I wanted to teach him how to use it but his teacher told me to leave him because he knows everything, and I gave him the ipad and he started to search and play games I was surprised he knows everything mashalla, his teacher told me that he usually win Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid gifts for the most clever un normal student. One thing made me to laugh that when the teacher asked them to color the UAE flag, all stude nts colored the UAE flag but he is the only one who colored the Palestine flag because he is from Palestine so am sure that his family taught him about his country which is very good.

Mohamed from Jordan he doesnt look at all that he is un normal person, he talks very well, I talked to him and he started asking me who am I and where I live, the conversation between me and him was like am talking to a normal person and he was telling me about his family how many sisters and brothers he have, then his teacher told me that he will not stop if u keep talking to him he likes to talk a lot without stop. Then I decided to stop and I asked him to do some activities which his teacher asked me to help him with drawing and coloring the numbers.

Another Mohamed is from UAE he doesnt hear and doesnt talk. He learns the sign language so he understands only by signs. After staying one hour doing some activities in the class with them I saw the weather outside was perfect so I asked their teacher if its allowed to t ake them out and play she said I have to go to the supervisor and ask him, so I went to him and I told him that I want to go out with students and play together specially the weather was good, he said ok never mind.

We went out and there are games, horse stable and rabbit room we played together and we were trying to hold the rabbits and we took the grass to feed the horse, the students really enjoyed. It's time to say good bye I was very sad that I will leave them I liked them, the place and the stuff too, I can say that this is the most place I liked more than all places I went for training or observing. If I had chance I will go several times not only for the lecture purpose, but for myself I want to know more and more about

the Center history about the students, I want to get more close to them even if I walked as a volunteer I am ready anytime.
