My 15 Steps

By: Yamahjai Lewis

Step 1
During highschool, I will take all required classes, and make sure that I have exceptional grades and a high GPA. Also, I will double up on my math classes so that I could take additional courses at UNCW, and already have college credits and save money.

Step 2
My focus in high school will be to study and work hard.

Step 3
Also, while in high school I will be doing lacrosse and possibly even FBLA, so I can have a better chance of getting into the college of my choice by athletic/educational scholarship or recommendations.

Step 4
During my high school years, I will also be doing my share of community service at local charities. But during the summers, I will be taking up a part-time job, which would pay me money towards my college funds.

Step 5
Then, when entering my junior/ senior year I will start to apply to colleges, and among these my top pick would be UNC Chapel Hill.

Step 6
After getting accepted into UNC Chapel Hill, I will then work really hard during the summer before college to ensure that I will be college ready.

Step 7
Then, while in college I will be majoring in Economics and minoring in mathematics, so that just in case I change my mind about being a finance manager I will still be educated in a broad field to pursue a different occupation.

Step 8
During my last years of college I will then apply for an internship, because the job I am preparing for requires experience.

Step 9
The internship will be working at a bank or finance company so that I will become familiar with the work environment.

Step 10
I will be receiving a Masters Degree in Economics so that my resume will be even more appealing to employers.

Step 11
After graduating with honors and a Masters Degree in Economics, I will then either be offered a full-time job at the place of my internship or I will apply for a job at a bank or finance company.

Step 12
While working at that job I will be recognized for my spectacular work and probably even get a promotion.

Step 13
After turning 23, I then can apply to become an Accounting Analyst for the FBI.

Step 14
After being accepted into the FBI, I then would have to move from my current location in North Carolina to Washington, D.C.

Step 15
Finally, being in the FBI for years I will then would have gotten promotions and raises, and I would be so well-paid that I could pay off any school debt.

The Results
Following these steps will help me guide myself to becoming a successful Accounting Analyst.
