To obtain a secondary education position teaching Biology and/or Chemistry at the 6-12 grade level in a public or private school setting. I hope to be able to utilize and employ my academic experiences to encourage students in expanding their knowledge and understanding in these different areas of science.

Eliciting new ways of reaching different learners and enriching my teaching practice by incorporating new teaching strategies. Building upon my skills of backwards planning, in order to help my students better understand the big ideas behind my lesson content. Assisted the instructor with the daily lessons. Evaluated students work, and social habits. Otto Middle School, Lansing Public Schools, Lansing, MI Pre-intern Teacher: Computers Class January 2011 May 2011 Observed and assisted 6th, 7th and 8th grade computer science classes. Designed a lesson related to Microsoft Office and facilitated instructional information.

Michigan Department of Community Health and State Laboratories, Lansing, MI K-12 Outreach Program Intern January 2012-May 2013 Drafted and revised the State of Michigans Health Curriculum. Compiled online lesson plans and projects for the State of Michigan. Organized K-12 school visits around the Lansing area to present science demonstrations. Prepared a video which explained the career of Laboratory Science, which was featured at the 2012 American Public Health Laboratories Conference in Denver. Executed the daily classroom assignments left by the teacher, while assisting the students.
