JOINING TRIPSTOP

TRIPSTOP can be joined if needed by inserting a 75mm/3 length of suitably shaped and fitted wooden dowel into the centre holes as shown below. A fine tooth saw such as a hack saw will cut the Tripstop easily, as will a fine finishing drop saw. Caution should be used when using power tools as Tripstop is hard and should be supported properly with a fence used on the saw. [See our how to cut Tripstop doc on our website]. It is acceptable to cut a short length from a length greater than 300mm but cutting from shorter lengths than 300mm should be avoided. Tripstop is easily drilled if an additional hole is required to secure the joined section. Use a drill with a 6.6mm spaded steel cutting bit.
