ugo was my si"th grade tea#her she rea$$y he$ped me dis#o%er myse$& and what ' wanted to do with my $i&e ' ha%e a$ways had a $o%e &or tea#hers it(s )ust a$ways had a $o%e &or tea#hing and its a$ways been there but Mrs !ugo rea$$y he$ped me strengthen and rea$i*e the &u$$ potentia$ o& what ' wanted to be Mrs !ugo was a short $ady with $ong brown hair who was married to a Spanish man and had two daughters and a son She a$so has a $o%e &or tea#hing whi#h rea$$y showed thru in the way she taught and #ommuni#ated with her students + $o%e &or tea#hing was not the on$y thing me and Mrs !ugo had in #ommon we were both %ery #reati%e and en)oyed arts and #ra&ts a$so s#rap boo,ing +$though ' ha%e #hosen not to tea#h -th grade but to en)oy the $ower grades su#h as pre., E%en though ' don(t want to tea#h -th grade she rea$$y showed me what ,ind o& tea#her ' rea$$y want to be and how ' want my students to ta$, about me the way her students ta$,ed about her +$though ' ha%e #hosen not to tea#h -th grade me and Mrs !ugo rea$$y #$i#,ed and ' wou$d say this is sti$$ on o& the best years o& s#hoo$ ' had She o&ten $et me and a #oup$e o& &riends ha%e $un#h in her #$assroom whi#h was a$ways a spe#ia$ treat that not e%erybody got to ha%e ' a$so $ent her a hand whene%er she as,ed and we both en)oyed #reating things &or our #$assroom She a$ways was a %ery #$ean person whi#h ' $i,ed be#ause there wasn(t mu#h dust or anything $i,e that whi#h rea$$y he$ped &or someone $i,e me who had %ery bad a$$ergies +$so during this year in si"th grade ' started %isiting the pre., #$ass and ' started wor,ing there whene%er ' had &ree.time The tea#her ' wor,ed with was named Mrs !as,ows,i she had been tea#hing pre., sin#e ' was in pre., That(s when my $o%e &or the $itt$e ones

rea$$y started to show ' spent a $ot o& time in that room and ' $earn a $ot o& things that ' ha%e #arried o%er with me into high s#hoo$ She rea$$y he$ped me bui$d my s,i$$s and wor, on aspe#ts o& tea#hing that ha%e rea$$y he$ped me in my ear$y #hi$dhood #ourse Now ' am in my $ast year o& high s#hoo$ and ' ha%e ta,en an ear$y #hi$dhood edu#ation #$ass the $ast / years and ' $o%e it The &irst year o& #ourse ' was ner%ous ' mean ' ha%e ne%er ta$,ed to a group o& 4 and 0 years o$ds in my $i&e1 and to be honest they made me more ner%ous at that point then adu$ts did ' a$ready was not %ery &ond o& spea,ing in &ront o& peop$e and ta$,ing in &ront o& them )ust rea$$y made my stoma#h turn in ,nots ' remember the &irst time ' sat down in &ront o& those ,ids and ' tried so hard to a#t $i,e e%erything was o, and ' was #omp$ete$y re$a"ed but they #ou$d see it in my &a#e and ' #ou$d see it in there &a#es1 but a&ter the &irst #oup$e o& times ' grew to rea$$y $i,e it ' am what ' wou$d $i,e to #a$$ a pro at this now and ' en)oy tea#hing them $essons ' rea$$y $i,e to see how they a$$ $earn and how di&&erent ea#h ,id is and how they #reate re$ationships and &riendships ' $o%e that ' #an prepare them &or ,indergarten 2ou a$most &ee$ $i,e you are in&$uen#ing there $i&e so mu#h and i& you thin, about it you rea$$y are ' mean you a preparing them &or a %ery $arge step in there $i%es at the time ' thin, that the ear$y #hi$dhood program is a great thing and a %ery su##ess&u$ too$ and strategy &or young adu$ts who want to be#ome a tea#her E%en though the #$ass ' wor, with is pre., ' ha%e a$so had e"perien#e with in&ants and se#ond graders thru this program1 not on$y do you get a range o& ages but you a$so get a range o& abi$ities 3hen ' too, the #$ass $ast year we used to go to a day #are one wee, a month #a$$ed Spa#e Coast Ear$y 'nter%ention whi#h is an a$$.in#$usi%e day#are whi#h means they ha%e ,ids with spe#ia$ needs or $earning disabi$ities as we$$ norma$. de%e$oping #hi$dren within the same #$assroom ' rea$$y $i,e

the aspe#t o& this sty$e o& #$assroom be#ause ' thin, it rea$$y bene&its both ,inds o& #hi$dren ' mean the norma$ de%e$oping #hi$dren #an $earn to$eran#e and a##eptan#e o& peop$e who are di&&erent and the spe#ia$ needs #an $earn to &ee$ norma$ and be in#$uded in a#ti%ities that e%erybody gets to do and ' thin, it rea$$y boosts their se$&.esteem and ma,es them &ee$ rea$$y good about themse$%es ' thin, that a$$ these e"perien#es wi$$ he$p me &urther my understanding o& #hi$dren whi#h wi$$ in turn he$p me 'n my &uture #areer o& wor,ing with young #hi$dren ' do thin, psy#ho$ogy p$ays a big part in #hi$d de%e$opment be#ause we rea$$y don(t understand how the #hi$dhood mind wor,s but using psy#ho$ogy we are s$owing un%ei$ing new things it seems a$most dai$y in the way the #hi$dhood mind wor,s ' rea$$y $i,e $earning about a$$ the theorists that ha%e ta$,ed about #hi$dhood ' wou$d say my &a%orite is Eri,son )ust be#ause ' $i,e the way he #ame at it 3hat ' mean by that is ' $i,e the way he ta$,ed about it so#ia$$y instead o& #ogniti%e or emotiona$$y ' thin, the so#ia$ aspe#t o& #hi$dren is a big un,nown and a$so at the same time %ery ,nown and probab$y one o& the #oo$est things to $earn about when it #omes to #hi$dren ' a$so o& #ourse $i,e the #ogniti%e part o& it be#ause ' $i,e to see how they de%e$op and how things di&&er within #hi$dren and how they $earn and pro#ess in&ormation in those tiny $itt$e brains o& theirs
