Leading Edge Academy DEP

Students- This is a part of your Trimester DEP information that will be looked over by your parents, teachers, and administration. This is an opportunity for you to self-reflect on your academic progress and to evaluate how you are being prepared in relation to our academy pillars.

Course Expressions

Academic Reflection Expressions was very exciting last trimester, we did lots of projects such as and I did very well this trimester.

Language Arts

I have improved astonishingly from last trimester in language arts, partially because this trimester I am doing all of my reading blog posts unlike last trimester when I forgot 4 or 5 and my grade dropped to 3s. I have gotten better at math than last trimester, I don't have the highest grade I could but i'm doing better than last year. I have been doing fairly well in P.E. I am getting astounding grades and I am fairly fit. I can get 7-8 minute miles and I love to participate in class. Science was better than it was last year I missed a few assignments in the beginning of the year but I didn't let that get me down I got my grades up to a 4.5. Social Studies has been very easy for me, I have kept a 5 all year and we have a lot of projects so its not hard to get your grades down but its also a little easier to get them back up because of the projects. Tech has been fun and we have done a lot of great projects like the photoshop project which was really fun and I have kept my grades at about a 4-5 because I missed a few homework assignments but I am doing them all this trimester. Connections made this Trimester Give Concrete Examples In language arts we had a stop motion project that we had to do on our survival books and we had to work in groups of four and it really helped build leadership for me because I was the cameraman but I helped keep my group on track. In math we sometimes do special problems and they take a lot of critical thinking because you need to think of how to do it and theres many steps just for one product that may or may

not be right. Technical Savvy In technology we did a photoshop project and it shows Technical Savvy because we had to learn how to make a GIF and how to make different layers so it would all move separately instead of just moving the whole thing at once. In Language Arts we learned about Hitler and the Holocaust during our survival unit and we learned about how they would kill all the Jewish people and it just made me appreciate their culture and my own. In Social Studies we studied the Native Americans before we came and how it was their land but we just took it from them and so we learned to appreciate them.
