Community Service Oriented Scholarships Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes Deadline: April 15, 2014 Available

To: Students younger than 18 Amount: $2,500 The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes is open to students who have organized and led a community service project that benefitted others. To apply, students must be nominated by an adult that has witnessed their service efforts and is of no relation. For more information on the Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes, click here. Nordstrom Scholarship Program Deadline: May 1, 2014 Available To: High school juniors Amount: $2,500 The Nordstrom Scholarship Program is open to high school juniors who participate in community service or volunteer projects and have at least a 2.7 GPA. Bonner Scholar and Bonner Leader Programs Deadline: Varies Available To: First-year college students Amount: Varies The Bonner Scholar and Leader Programs provide scholarships to first-year college students who demonstrate an interest in community service and social justice issues as well as financial need. Available only at participating colleges, those in the Bonner Scholar and Leader Programs must complete 10 hours of community service each week. Dunkin Donuts Scholarship Deadline: April 15, 2014 Available To: High school seniors Amount: $2,500 The Dunkin Donuts Scholarship is available to high school seniors in specified areas of New England as well as Philadelphia. ECRA Scholarship Deadline: July 11, 2014 Available To: High school seniors Amount: $1,000 The ECRA Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors that have made significant contributions to the betterment of their school and/or community.
