e !elationshi&s Strategies 'or 'ostering &ositi%e (eacher)Student relationshi&s For the first week that I am teaching I will take approximately 5 minutes at the beginning of every class to ask the students if they have any news or something they would like to share with the class. By doing this I can build a positive relationship with students and make them feel comfortable with me. Doing this for the first week that I am teaching will enable me to learn more about my students through conversation. When students are working on their assignments learning activities I will walk around the room and check on each student. I will make sure that they are on track and understand what they are doing. I want to make sure I differentiate my instruction for each student so all are successful! "n the first day of class I will have students fill out a survey so I can get to know their likes# and interests. I can then use what I learn from the survey in my lessons and try and include something at least one student likes or is interests# in every lesson. $lso# on the first day of class I will have students write a paragraph about themselves. %hey can include likes interests. $fter everyone has completed these# I will read through them all. When there is time I will read them out to the students and they will need to guess who&s paragraph I am reading. %his will help give me an understanding of the students interests and I can also see a sample of each students writing. Strategies 'or 'ostering &ositi%e Student)Student relationshi&s I would like students to do lots of group work as well as pair work. If students are dependent on each other they will be encouraged to support each other and work together to reach a common goal. (odel positive interactions with students and fellow teachers for students to follow. )tudents will need to have mutual respect for their classmates. If students say offensive things they will need to apologi*e and say a positive comment back to that person.
