Problem 1
Jenny has gone for a swim in a river which is owing at 0.35 m s1 . She swims at 0.18 m s1 at right angles to the current. (i) Draw a vector diagram illustrating the situation. (ii) On your diagram, draw Jennys resultant velocity. (iii) Using trigonometry, calculate the magnitude and the direction of her resultant velocity. (iv) If Jenny swims like this for 10 seconds, how far along the river will she travel? How far across ?

Problem 2
