6) Accept advice from others, including university consultant, mentor teacher, and students. Listen to feedback.
-Teresa Pfeifer, other teachers at Webster Niblock, Andy Fune, Terry Kerkhoff, students, peers, others Rationale: During PSI & PSII I was only in the classroom for a short amount of time. This means modifying my teaching practices based on individual needs and IPPs was a challenge. Because I will have a better understanding of each students specific needs and learning styles, I will be able to adjust and adapt accordingly. For my PSIII, there is one child with an IPP, and a few others awaiting testing, and it will be important for me to adapt and modify my lessons and teaching to their needs as well as others. By making myself aware of any students coded with behavioural issues, I am preparing for what strategies may be necessary to effectively engage my students, as well as

manage my class. Asking and observing my mentor teacher will help me accomplish this. It will also be essential for me to build relationships immediately, with students, staff and parents in the class. Finally, I must accept the feedback I am given by others and make sure to ask for this feedback often. Through reflections and feedback from my principal, university consultant and mentor teacher, I will be able to measure my degree of success. It is this feedback that will help me construct lessons that have aspects of modifications, specific to my class and their needs. Reflection/Indicator of Success a) How successful have I been in meeting my goal? b) How has my professional practice improved? c) How has student learning improved?

3) Incorporate differentiated learning During strategies to accurately and fairly assess all PSIII students according to students unique abilities and learning styles.
4) Consistently observe student mastery of During -Teresa Pfeifer skills during work time. PSIII Rationale: This goal pertains to my PS3 practicum as it is one of the most unfamiliar aspects of teaching to me. Although I received ample training in the area from the university, putting these techniques into action in a grade two classroom is completely different. There are also a huge variety of new methods of assessment, such as outcome based learning, that I am unfamiliar with, but feel could be incredibly useful tools to explore. I am comfortable creating assessments for Science, but am less familiar with Math, Art and Phys. Ed, which will be included in my teaching assignment. The most challenging aspect of assessment for me will be selecting the most appropriate assessment technique to accurately represent the level of student learning. This goal is key as I will need to support my decisions on report cards and marks sheets, with evidence of learning.
