1 June 13 Dear Parent(s), Welcome to the District 77 Summer School Program!

In order for us to best serve your son/daughter please read the listed information about summer school carefully. 1. Reading & Math Academy, ELL, and Learning in Deed all start on Monday, July 8th and run to Thursday, August 1st except for ELL which ends on Thursday, August 15 th. All programs are 3.5 hours in length and run Monday through Thursday. You will get a call from your summer school classroom teacher in regards to when your program starts and ends. Each buil dings start and end times vary. 2. Attendance is mandatory for your child. Summer school has been shortened to allow families to spend more time together over the summer. We need your child at summer school because your child has been identified with a weakness in either math or reading that we want to strengthen and we cant do that if you dont send your child on a regular basis. 3. Transportation letters will be mailed out the last week of June. If you do not receive a letter telling you that you have received busing by the first week of July then busing is not available to your child. If you have any questions about busing, please call Chad at Yeager Bus Services for questions at 345-5470. He sets all bus routes and handles all criteria on who rides the bus and who does not. 4. Supplies: Your child will need the following for summer school: Backpack pencils Notebook a least 1 folder glue stick or glue bottle crayons art box scissor erasers Water bottle (Optional) Markers & colored pencils (Optional)

5. Breakfast & Lunch will be served at the school your child is attending. 6. Discipline Policy New to summer school this year is a Three Strikes Policy. Summer school is only 16 days and it is critical that all students behave the best they can to maximize all students learning. Students that have a hard time making good choices maybe asked to leave. See progression below: First Strike Form is sent home for a parent to sign and return the next day. Second Strike - Form is sent home. Contact with a parent MUST be made either by a phone call or a face to face in order to discuss with a teacher or an admin person about how behavior will change. If the parent cannot be reached or does not return a phone call, your child will not be allowed back into summer school until that contact takes place. Third Strike - Summer school for your child is done for the rest of the programs length.

We looked forward to see you this summer. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me at 387-7672. Dan Blasl Districts Summer School Coordinator
