Getting to know you

Child: Aya Teacher: Anar Date: 21/03/2014 Aya has participated different activities in past few weeks that showed me she has immense capacity to be engaged in experiences, to pay attention, to be patient, to be focused and to contribute to activities where other children collaborate alongside her. One day, I saw you watching other children play traffic signal game outside. Later you decided to join in with your friend. You walked on the plank waiting for Nusaybes direction. When Nusayba say it is green light you walk when she say it is red light then you stopped. I saw you both had so much fun playing this traffic signal game. Another day, you were jumping on the ground patiently waiting for your friend finish jump. You were much enjoyed jumping as you played jumping over and over again sometimes jumping in one foot, sometimes jumping with hula. While you jumping you also counting the number on the ground. What is happening here? I am getting to know Aya more each day and learning to appreciate her intense interest in a wide range of activities and experiences. It seems that whenever there is a group of children gathered, with a teacher, Aya will investigate what is happening and decide if she wants to join in. Aya, I have noticed that you also have an interest in working alongside others in cooperative experiences with purposeful objectives and outcomes. It has been lovely to

get to know you during these times and learn about how you learn and how you interact with other people around you. I look forward to many more experiences where I can learn about you and with you.
