KITSAP SADDLE CLUB AIMS & GOALS The Kitsap Saddle Club, an Affiliate Washington State Horsemen non-profit

club, provides opportunities to learn about the care and training of horses and present activities to use and improve horsemanship skills. Members are asked to assist with club maintenance and activities and do their best to further the aims and goals of the club, which are,Good Horsemanship & Good Sportsmanship. Members may use the clubhouse once yearly, at no charge, for a not for profit function. Members also have use of the arenas whenever they are not being used for a club event, rented or reserved by a member for a personal use day. No lessons are to be given or taken on club grounds except during club approved events. Junior members are not allowed to ride alone on club grounds. Riders are required to wear appropriate boots and are strongly encouraged to wear approved safety helmets when riding on club grounds. Riding double is not permitted. Horses are not to be turned loose in the arenas or tied to rails, fences or stalls. All equipment is to be returned to storage and arena gates closed when leaving. We ask that members remove all trash and animal waste before leaving club grounds. Dogs are to be kept on leash under control of an adult. Membership meetings are generally the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm. Membership is renewed annually by the January club meeting. Washington State Horsemen membership may be purchased along with your Saddle Club Membership, may entitle you to receive a WSH card, to be used when competing in WSH approved events. Both KSC and WSH newsletters are available online . KSC puts on WSH B System Horse Show/s. They are two day events that require the help of Club members. KSC assists the Canal Zone with Benefit Horse Shows in July, held at KSC to support the Zone awards program.

Performance Play Days and Games Play Days are held monthly, April through October. A Play Day Awards program is offered for KSC members. A Prize Ride is offered in the Forest and Mountains that provides an opportunity for families to ride a marked trail and enjoy a hot meal when you return to camp. KSC rides in local parades. The parade outfit consists of: boots, clean blue jeans and belt, white shirt, red neck scarf, and light colored western hat. Volunteers are needed as side walkers and Pooper Scooper. Other activities may include Family Fun Nights, Potlucks, and Holiday Celebrations, as club members desire. Junior members, between the ages of eight (8) to eighteen (18), are eligible to try out for our Junior and Senior Royalty Courts Junior WS members are eligible to participate in the WSH and Zone Youth Merit programs. Points are earned for community service and participation in equestrian events, with awards presented at the WSH Convention or Canal Zone Awards Banquet in November. The Kitsap Saddle Club offers a scholarship to WSH members for continuing education.
