April 11, 2014 To Whom It May Concern: I am privileged to write this letter for Mario Jativa.

I had the pleasure of observing Mario for the two years as a teacher at the Lakeside Middle School music program. He is a knowledgeable music educator that will be an asset to any program. Mario is willing to share his vast knowledge and high level skill set for the betterment of music education. Mario earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the California State University Long Beach, along with a vast array of professional music experiences. He has performed music in a wide variety of ensembles during his undergraduate programs, as well as being recognized as an exceptional music educator. Being a first class musician, Mario strives to communicate the way any artist would without having to speak down to his audience or lowering expectations of his students. This unique style makes any learner feel comfortable, even in challenging learning environments, and his demeanor fosters enjoyment of the process of learning and music making. Marios peers have the upmost respect for him and he interacts with professionalism and leadership in learning communities and other collegial settings. His goal is to empower students with the skills and passion to be lifelong learners. Though many of his students will not become music professionals, he believes that the success they experience in the music classroom will instill an appreciation for musical tradition and better equip them to become successful members of society. Mario guides students to respect their education and the learning process that will further guide and inform them once they have completed their formal education. I highly recommend Mario Jativa for any position that he would apply. Please feel free to call if you have further questions. Respectfully submitted,
