2. Reflect penronally on your experience in one of these areas.

I had an amazing time planning the following weeKs lessons. Mrs. Nelson has given me my own lesson planner, which t will be using every day! She also provided me with documentation from a meeting she went to which dlscussed ESL placement and new Core standards. Mrs. Nelson is always keeping me in mind when she gattrers supplies and documents and has been including me in everything; which I greatly appreciate. I was able to sit down with all the 2nd grade teachers Friday afternoon and watch them organize small groups for additional training for students who scored less than 20 on fluenry. I enjoy being able to witness and be a part of these meetings. She has informed all of the teachers how I will be taking over lessons and in the spring I will be teaching every day. All of them wish they had volunteered for a student teacher now; they all make me feel welcomed and accepted. Planning students who need strategic training is a lot more complicated than I had assumed so it was nice to be in the room watching them organize everything.

3. Looking ahead - What do you want to focus on next week? Ullhat goals can I set?
Focus for My Work with Children
Help the studentswith their spelling; they need to use their dictionary that is in their desk. Help students with math {odd,/even, adding sums, using pairs to add, understanding ones, tens, hundredths place value and the new concept fi nding patterns to 1000).

Focus for Observation or Other lnvolvement

Watch closely how Mrs- Nelson plans her lessons. See what steps she takes to plan her lesson and where she keeps documents. Make notes of her class objectives for each day. Memorize the class schedule. And learn everyone's names.
