Compex Refresher

Introduction This course is designed for staff who require a "Refresher" and "Update" in new standards and who may have previously attended Hazardous Area Training. Any previous training will have covered the 1st Edition of the EN500 series BS5501 for apparatus construction, the Codes of Practice to BS5345 and IEC 79-17 in content. At the outset a Formative Questionnaire will be used to identify the candidates current understanding of knowledge in the subject and this will be further supported in the use of Formative Questionnaires during instruction to allow the provision of appropriate remedial training. Course Objectives 1 This course will confirm the understanding of the: 2 Properties of flammable gas and liquids and zonal classification Principles of protection afforded by Exd, e, n, p, i, q, m, o, and s apparatus Selection, installation, inspection and maintenance of Exd. e, n, p, and i apparatus and systems and their hybrids Certification and marking of apparatus

This course will update changes relevant to the installer and inspection/maintenance personnel in the: European Directives Ex apparatus standards Ex installation, inspection and maintenance standards Relationship between BS 5345 and 5501 and corresponding IEC/CENELEC Standards Marking apparatus
