Reections !

This was a typical traditional language teaching class. Words and structures were the focus of the class. Although there was not enough input for the class. However, the teacher has tried many ways to give learners corrective feedback to promote the learners expression of the language although the expression still focused on forms. For the pronouncing errors, teacher corrected the learners immediately and explicitly. For the structure errors, teacher used metalinguistic feedback. For the expression problems, teacher applied elicitation to help learners to form their language. The output was not very apparent on the respective of communication, but the learners have learnt a lot on the respective of forms and structures.! On the basis of the textbook, each unit has one topic. For example, the topic for this unit is hobby. From the topic, we will consider the contents must be related to real life very well. However, there are a lot of new words and structures that must be taught in each uint during limited teaching period. As a result, form-focus teaching is the main teaching approach nowadays. In addition, it is not easy for teacher to use task-based teaching to teach so many contents in one unit. However, as a language teacher, we should still try to use the approach to focus on learners communication ability.! task-based
