Program Philosophy

School should be a place that enriches each child, and offers real world experiences that prepare them for their future. As an educator it is my responsibility to create an educational experience that interests and challenges my students. I understand that not every child learns at the same pace or in the same way. I provide a positive learning environment to support these differences so all students succeed. I am a positive role model. When I teach I dress professionally, use proper grammar, encourage manners, and am confident in what I teach and believe. I find that when I am confident- my students gain confidence in their learning. I strive to connect with each student on a personal level. My favorite teachers were those that took the time to understand my personal interests. It is important to know my students likes and dislikes. When I have a clear sense of a students personality, I can successfully focus on each students success. A positive classroom environment fosters childrens learning. I ensure that every child who enters my classroom feels comfortable. No student will ever be doubted or discouraged. I believe in promoting positive behavior and encourage students, rather than punishing them for inappropriate behavior. Children are our future and it is my duty to prepare each as much as possible for their academic success. Providing students with meaningful hands on experiences and valuing their individual interests in a positive learning environment will help each child reach their academic growth and potential.
