This is a credible source because it is a peer-reviewed article. It talks about
creative drills, covers basics such as passing, ball handling, and offensive/defensive
transitioning, as well as fun warm-up and end-of-practice routines. This is helpful
because as a coach you need to have effective drills to coach a team.

Pensgaard, A. M., & Roberts, G. C. (2002). Elite athletes' experience of the

This source is credible because it is a peer-reviewed article. In this source the
athletes emphasized the importance of having a coach as the creator of the climate, as
well as their preference for a supportive and caring climate. I will use this source because
it shows the importance of having a coach to the teammates and how the coaches
attitude reflects on the team.

This source is credible because it is a peer-reviewed article. The purpose of the
study was to determine how university coaches of team sports build successful programs.
The results revealed four elements for developing a successful program such as
possessing personal attributes that led them to display appropriate leadership behaviors
and having organizational skills that followed in games. This is helpful because as a
coach you want a successful career and in order to do so you need leadership and
organizational skills.

Voight, M. (January 01, 2002). Coaching - Improving the quality of training:
Coach and player responsibilities. Journal of Physical Education,
Recreation & Dance, 73(6), 43.
This source is credible because it is a journal written by Mike Voight. He was a
player in many sports and played college level sports. He goes to different workshops to
explain the importance of a coach and their responsibilities for over twenty-five years. He
said that a Coach should utilize to enhance the quality of their players' practices. These
strategies consisted of practicing quality coaching, communication, practicing at game
speed, and giving positive reinforcement when players do things right. This source is
helpful because it explains many coaches responsibilities and that is what one of my
main focuses is on for my paper.

coaches in division I women's sport. Social Science Quarterly, 88(5),
1415-1434.

This is a credible source because it is a peer-reviewed article. It shows how
college level coaches are mostly men. Being only four out of ten women are basketball
coaches at a college level. The reason they are so low is because when the number of
women sport began to rise the number of women coaches started to decline because so
many men were seeking the job. Many athletic departments are dominated by males,
therefore making it hard for women to be involved. This source is helpful to me because I
want to know why many women are not coaches at college level athletics.
